Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the mashed bananas with melted butter.

  3. Add sugar, egg, and vanilla; stir until well combined.

  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

  5. Add dry ingredients to banana mixture; stir until just combined.

  6. Fold in walnuts or chocolate chips, if using.

  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

  • Overripe bananas (brown spots) work best.

  • Add a streusel topping or swirl with Nutella for variation.

  • Stores well wrapped at room temp for 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week.
