    • 1 teaspoon chicken or vegetable stock/Bouillon powder
    • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Casserole:
    • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, uncooked
    • 4 cups cooked or rotisserie chicken (shredded or diced)
    • 2 cups ham, diced
    • 2 cups Swiss cheese, shredded
    • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • Casserole Topping:
    • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
    • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • Equipment:
    • A 2-quart casserole dish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in chicken broth and milk until smooth.
  • Add Dijon mustard, Bouillon powder, and Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook until thickened, about 5 minutes.
  • In a 2-quart casserole dish, layer the broccoli, chicken, ham, and Swiss cheese.
  • Pour the Dijon cream sauce evenly over the top.
  • In a small bowl, combine Panko breadcrumbs with melted butter. Sprinkle over the casserole.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot.
