  • 1 20 oz bag of shredded potatoes (frozen and pre-packaged work great)
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1.5 cups diced onion
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (reserve ½ cup for topping)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 10.5 oz can of cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt

Instructions

  • Add shredded potatoes, butter, diced onion, 1.5 cups shredded cheese, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, and garlic salt into the crockpot.
  • Mix everything together until well combined.
  • Cook on low for 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally.
  • In the last 30 minutes of cooking, sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of shredded cheese on top.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken soup if preferred.
