Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup chocolate chips (for folding in)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine melted chocolate, melted butter, and sugar. Stir until smooth.
  • Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  • Sift in cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix until a smooth batter forms.
  • Fold in extra chocolate chips.
  • Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  • Bake for 8-10 minutes, until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a chewier texture, slightly underbake the cookies, as they will continue to firm up while cooling.
  • Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a sweet-salty flavor twist.
