    • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
    • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
  • Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients in batches, alternating with sour cream. Gently fold in diced apples.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  • For the crumb topping, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Stir in melted butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over the cake batter.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
