Apple Dapple Cake is a moist, flavorful dessert loaded with fresh apples, warm spices, and crunchy nuts, then finished with a rich caramel glaze. This cozy cake is perfect for fall gatherings, bringing the best of autumn flavors in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup walnuts or pecans, chopped (optional)

For the Caramel Glaze:

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and oil until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Fold in apples and nuts.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • For the glaze, heat brown sugar, butter, and milk in a saucepan. Stir and cook until melted and smooth. Add vanilla.
  • Drizzle warm glaze over the cooled cake before serving.

Notes

  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for best results.
  • Cool completely before glazing for a thicker coating.
