This Cheesy Ground Beef Pasta Skillet is a quick and easy one-pan meal packed with savory ground beef, tender pasta, and loads of melty cheese. Perfect for busy weeknights, this family-friendly recipe comes together in just 30 minutes and uses pantry staples like beef, pasta, tomatoes, and cheese. A flavorful and comforting dinner that will satisfy both kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 8 oz uncooked pasta (elbow, penne, or rotini)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until softened, about 3 minutes.
  • Stir in diced tomatoes, beef broth, tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  • Add uncooked pasta to the skillet. Stir well, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender.
  • Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy. Serve hot.

Notes

  • You can swap cheddar cheese for mozzarella or a cheese blend for a different flavor.
  • To make it spicier, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or some diced jalapeños.
  • This dish pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread for a complete meal.
