Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen green beans, trimmed
  • 2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 1/2 cups fried onions, divided
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  • Add green beans and 1 cup of fried onions to the mixture, and stir to combine.
  • Transfer the mixture to the crockpot and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or on high for 2-3 hours, until the green beans are tender.
  • About 30 minutes before serving, stir in cheddar cheese (optional).
  • Before serving, sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of fried onions on top. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, toast the fried onions in the oven for a few minutes before adding them on top.
  • You can use canned green beans for a softer texture, reducing cook time slightly.
