Made with simple ingredients, it’s moist, tender, and topped with a tangy-sweet glaze that takes it to the next level. Serve it with mashed potatoes or a fresh salad for a complete meal!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Glaze:

  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it in the prepared pan or on the baking sheet.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the glaze ingredients: ketchup, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard. Spread half of the glaze evenly over the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for 40-45 minutes, then spread the remaining glaze over the meatloaf. Bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the meatloaf is cooked to the proper internal temperature.
  • Ground turkey can be substituted for a lighter option.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
