  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup caramelized onions
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Fold in half of the caramelized onions and half of the cheese.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a greased loaf pan.
  5. Top with remaining caramelized onions and cheese.
  6. Pour beef broth around the loaf for moisture.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
