This Ground Beef and Broccoli recipe is a quick, healthy stir-fry that's perfect for busy weeknights. Featuring lean ground beef, tender broccoli, and a savory homemade sauce, this dish is a delicious, low-carb meal option packed with protein and flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • Sliced green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it into pieces. Drain excess fat if needed.
  • Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger to the beef and sauté until fragrant.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, rice vinegar, and beef broth. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add broccoli florets to the pan, cover, and cook until tender, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce, and cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce coats the beef and broccoli.
  • Season with red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to taste.
  • Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve over rice or as is for a low-carb option.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
  • For added heat, increase the red pepper flakes or add a dash of sriracha.
  • For a gluten-free version, ensure you use tamari instead of soy sauce.
