Ingredients

Scale

Pizza:

  • 1 pizza crust (e.g., Tiseo’s Frozen Pizza Dough)
  • 1 ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (about 8 oz)
  • 2 Roma tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • 10 large basil leaves
  • ½ cup pizza sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (for brushing crust)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Pizza Sauce:

  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 ½ teaspoons dried oregano
  • ¾ teaspoon dried rosemary
  • ½ teaspoon ground sage
  • ¼ teaspoon dried marjoram
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough: Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). Roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness on a floured surface.
  • Make the Sauce: Combine tomato paste, olive oil, water, and spices in a bowl. Mix until smooth.
  • Assemble the Pizza: Spread pizza sauce over the dough. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese, then arrange tomato slices and basil leaves on top.
  • Bake: Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
  • Finish: Brush the crust with melted butter and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, bake the pizza on a preheated pizza stone.
  • Fresh mozzarella can be used instead of shredded for a more authentic texture.
  • Adjust the herbs in the sauce to your taste preference.
