This Italian Grinder Sandwich recipe is a deli-style classic featuring layers of Italian meats, cheese, and a tangy grinder salad. Packed with bold flavors, it's perfect for lunch or dinner and easy to make at home!

Ingredients

  • 1 large hoagie roll or Italian sub roll
  • 3 slices salami
  • 3 slices pepperoni
  • 3 slices capicola
  • 3 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/2 cup iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup banana peppers
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Slice the hoagie roll in half and lightly toast it if desired.
  • Spread mayonnaise on both sides of the roll.
  • Layer the salami, pepperoni, capicola, and provolone cheese on the bottom half of the roll.
  • In a bowl, mix the shredded lettuce, red onion, banana peppers, red wine vinegar, olive oil, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to create the grinder salad.
  • Pile the grinder salad generously on top of the meats and cheese.
  • Close the sandwich with the top half of the roll, slice, and serve!
