  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 12 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef, sausage, and onion over medium heat until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 10 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
  • Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • Add fresh basil or parsley for a burst of freshness.
