  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk (for cheese sauce)
  • 1 tsp mustard powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper.
  • Press the meatloaf mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a saucepan, melt butter, add flour, and stir to create a roux. Gradually whisk in milk, mustard powder, and garlic powder until thickened.
  • Stir in cheese until melted and smooth.
  • Combine cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce.
  • Spread the mac and cheese mixture on top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until meatloaf is cooked through and the top is golden.
  • Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes
