Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 1 (15 oz) container ricotta cheese
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium heat until beef is browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, cream cheese, sour cream, egg, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in the baking dish. Add a layer of noodles, followed by half of the cheese mixture and a layer of mozzarella. Repeat layers, ending with sauce and mozzarella on top.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.

  • Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, use a mix of ground beef and Italian sausage.
  • Let lasagna sit before cutting to keep layers intact.

  • Can be made ahead and refrigerated before baking.
