This Million Dollar Ravioli Casserole is a rich and creamy baked pasta dish featuring layers of cheese-stuffed ravioli, a creamy mixture of ricotta and cream cheese, savory marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella. It’s a simple yet indulgent casserole that delivers on flavor and comfort. Perfect for family dinners or gatherings, this easy-to-make dish feels luxurious but uses everyday ingredients for a delicious, satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (25 oz) frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 lb ground beef or Italian sausage
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef or sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in the marinara sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a bowl, mix together ricotta cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, and half of the Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Layer half of the frozen ravioli over the sauce.
  • Spread the ricotta mixture over the ravioli, followed by half of the mozzarella cheese.
  • Add the remaining ravioli, then top with the rest of the meat sauce.
  • Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Cover the casserole with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute meat-filled ravioli for extra protein or use ground turkey for a leaner option.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra veggies.
  • This casserole freezes well for make-ahead meals.
