Make this Mongolian ground beef noodles recipe for a delicious, savory meal loaded with tender noodles, seasoned beef, and a sweet soy glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz noodles (spaghetti, lo mein, or egg noodles)
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the noodles according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  • Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and cornstarch.
  • Pour the sauce into the skillet with the ground beef, stirring until thickened.
  • Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to combine.
  • Stir in green onions and sprinkle with red pepper flakes, if desired.
  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For added veggies, toss in broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas.
  • Use low-sodium soy sauce to control saltiness.
  • Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
