This Sheet Pan Oven Grilled Cheese recipe is a game-changer for making grilled cheese sandwiches in bulk. With golden, crispy bread and perfectly melted cheese, it’s the easiest way to feed a crowd without standing over the stove. Great for family meals or parties!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 slices of bread (your choice of white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
  • 8 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, or your favorite)
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • Place 4 slices of bread, butter-side down, on a parchment-lined sheet pan.
  • Top each slice with 2 slices of cheese, then cover with the remaining bread, butter-side up.
  • Place a second sheet pan on top of the sandwiches to press them down.
  • Bake for 10–12 minutes, flipping the sandwiches halfway through for even browning.
  • Remove from the oven once the bread is golden and the cheese is melted. Slice and serve!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add toppings like sliced tomatoes, cooked bacon, or caramelized onions between the cheese layers.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  • To make them extra crispy, broil the sandwiches for the last 1–2 minutes of cooking.
