Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups hot water

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar.
  • Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spread batter evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the batter.
  • Carefully pour hot water over the top (do not stir).
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden and bubbly. Serve warm.
