This delicious Stuffed Breakfast Loaf is the perfect breakfast dish, featuring a combination of eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, and green onions, all baked in a crusty baguette. Ideal for a quick, savory breakfast, this recipe is easy to make and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 baguette-style loaf of bread, 10-12 inches long
  • 5 eggs
  • 5 strips of bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 4 oz. medium cheddar cheese, grated (I used marbled)
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cut a V-shaped channel along the top of the baguette and remove the bread from inside, leaving a hollow loaf.
  • In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir in the cooked bacon, grated cheddar cheese, and sliced green onions.
  • Pour the egg mixture into the hollowed-out baguette.
  • Place the stuffed baguette on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is melted.
  • Let the loaf cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute the bacon with sausage or ham if preferred.
  • For a spicier version, add some chopped jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the egg mixture.
