  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Remove and set aside, leaving some drippings in the skillet.
  • Add butter to the skillet and melt over medium heat. Sauté onions and mushrooms until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux. Gradually whisk in beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
  • Reduce heat and simmer the sauce until it thickens, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika. Add the cooked ground beef and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Combine the cooked egg noodles with the stroganoff sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
  • Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
