Ingredients
Scale
1 lb ground beef
8 oz egg noodles
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups beef broth
1 cup sour cream
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Remove and set aside, leaving some drippings in the skillet.
Add butter to the skillet and melt over medium heat. Sauté onions and mushrooms until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to form a roux. Gradually whisk in beef broth, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
Reduce heat and simmer the sauce until it thickens, about 5 minutes.
Stir in sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and paprika. Add the cooked ground beef and mix well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine the cooked egg noodles with the stroganoff sauce. Toss to coat evenly.
Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Use low-sodium beef broth to control saltiness.
Substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
