Walking Taco Bake recipe featuring ground beef, beans, cheese, and Fritos. Perfect for a quick and tasty meal with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (90/10, lean meat to avoid draining fat)
  • 1 sweet or yellow onion, diced
  • 1 15-oz. can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 15-oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 10-oz. can Rotel or diced tomatoes with green chilies, drained
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 8-oz bag shredded Cheddar cheese
  • ½ bag Fritos
  • Green onions, chopped
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Tomatoes, diced
  • Pickled jalapeños, sliced
  • Sour cream

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium heat until beef is browned and onion is tender.
  • Stir in kidney beans, tomato sauce, Rotel or diced tomatoes with green chilies, and taco seasoning. Simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  • Transfer beef mixture to a 9x13-inch baking dish. Top with shredded Cheddar cheese and Fritos.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and top with green onions, fresh cilantro, diced tomatoes, pickled jalapeños, and sour cream. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the toppings according to your preference.
  • For a spicier kick, use hot Rotel or add extra jalapeños.
