This Philly Cheesesteak Meatloaf recipe combines the flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with the comfort of a hearty meatloaf. Loaded with sautéed peppers, onions, and gooey melted cheese, this recipe is a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté the diced onions and bell peppers until softened, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool.
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Add the sautéed vegetables and mix until evenly combined.
  4. Transfer half of the meat mixture to a loaf pan and press it down evenly. Create a small well and layer shredded provolone cheese in the center. Cover with the remaining meat mixture and press gently to seal the edges.
  5. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For added flavor, use a combination of provolone and mozzarella cheese.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or a side salad for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
